ISO 50001: the international standard for energy management systems.
ISO 50001 is the international standard for energy management systems.
Created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO 50001 combines the resources of over 200 of the world’s leading energy experts, the result of which is a proven approach to strategic energy management.
The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an Energy Management System and enables organisations to take a systematic approach to improving their energy performance.
Data from the USA (closely aligned with ISO 50001) has demonstrated facilities that meet the ISO 50001 standard improved their energy performance up to 30 per cent over three years. ClimateWorks Australia research suggested companies that adopted best practices could increase their profits between 11-69 per cent over five years.
The Australian leader in ISO 50001
EfficientSee has developed a reputation as the Australian leader of ISO 50001 strategy and implementation.
In 2013, we supported the first Australian company to receive ISO 50001 accreditation. Since then, we have been developing ways to integrate these best-practice principles into our clients’ organisations, enabling them to reap the benefits of lower cost, more reliable, and reduced emissions energy.
Helping you achieve your energy goals
We can advise organisations on how to better align themselves with the standard and how best to incorporate it into their existing processes to achieve energy efficiencies. While the standard is an important goal in itself, we support organisations in all aspects of improving energy performance including energy efficiency, energy security, energy procurement and consumption.
Our unique and proven methodology supports organisations to achieve their best practice energy goals and recognises and rewards their progress via our SEE-Tick® certification.
Australia is getting ready - are you?
According to ISO 50001 estimates, the standard - which has been strongly adopted in Europe and the USA - could influence up to 60 per cent of the world’s energy use. Australia, however, is relatively new in adopting its principles.
The landscape in Australia is starting to change as leading state governments begin to roll-out programs to encourage alignment to the standard.
There is a huge competitive advantage to be gained by Australian companies that take the lead in ISO 50001.
